The breeding of AQPS racehorses in France and Europe has increased by an unprecedented amount in recent years. The success of AQPS horses over jumps in France, Great Britain and Ireland, the leading National Hunt nations of the world, and the know-how of breeders have made this breed very popular. However, this label, which is originally an acronym for "Other than pure-blood" is often misunderstood in France as it is abroad.
Since the birth of the AQPS studbook in 2005, this term no longer includes any half-blood, but only those who are part of a breeding programme specifically designed for jump races.The AQPS Association, which groups the various organisations of AQPS breeders and owners in France, has sought to establish a new showcase for the bloodstock it represents.
This website aims to inform members of the association, particularly in terms of regulations, but also a wider audience interested in learning more about AQPS in general, their successes and progress, the activities of associations at regional and national levels, etc.
