Thursday 1st October www.frogsracing.com Back over hurdles in favourable conditions, Royality (AQPS-Visionary) did not miss out in the Prix Marittimo (Hurdles - 3.600m), where the majority of his opponents were giving him weight. He was a little keen early on before being dropped back into the field by David Berra. The winner took on the leader Tandori (Loup Solitaire) on the flat, it took him a while to gain the advantage, but he eventually won easily by two lengths from the strong finishing Rexon du Ronceray (AQPS-Video Rock). "I don't know his limits", Philippe Peltier remarked about the Amedee Choupeault bred AQPS. "The day when we can get him to relax early on in the race is when he will really be at his best. I had the possibility to run him in the tierce today, now, but I preferred to put him in a race where he would be more at ease. It was a good entry. I do not know what race he will go for now. He recovers well after his runs and is easy to get fit. We have a choice. "

The Prix Pride of Kildare(3yo-3600m), an important race for 3 year olds starting out over hurdles, began badly when as many as six runners fell at the first hurdle.

Relegated to the rear in the incident, Sang Bleu (AQPS-Lavirco) gradually made regained the lost ground under David Cottin and proved unbeatable in the home straight. "We almost fell at the first but my horse reacted well", noted David Cottin on Equidia. "From the second fence, he jumped like an old man. He has a big action and I wanted to kick early because it is his main quality." Sang Bleu's mother Formosa (Royal Charter) is a sister of the champion Japhet (Perrault), who has already bred Quarte (Dark Moondancer) a winner of three races over hurdles, on the flat and over fences at Royan and Meslay-du-Maine for Guillaume Macaire.

Two lengths behind him, Tanerko Emery (Lavirco) kept on for a decent second place after having figured in the front running group and boldly trying his luck. This runner of Philippe Peltier's still held on by a short neck from the strong finishing Two Be K (King's Theater).

Note that the first two are by Lavirco and that once again, an AQPS won a race for unraced 3 year olds...
